After successfully completing the program, one will have met the academic and clinical requirements for the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). The Clinic, well-known for its successful summer literacy project, recently received recognition from the Louisiana Scottish Rite Foundation, Inc., in the form of clinic funding, annual scholarships, and National Foundation Grants focused on the continued success of our literacy project and implementation of ASL services. Professional Preparation
The Master鈥檚 Program in Speech Language Pathology at UL Lafayette is fully accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. You will accomplish the breadth and depth of knowledge and experience required for national certification and state licensure through our state of the art coursework and our various on-campus and off-campus clinical settings. Have the specified number of clinical hours in a variety of clinical settings, and the coursework covers the depth and breadth of knowledge required for the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
Student Organizations
Get valuable volunteer and professional experience in our student organizations. We have student chapters for the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA), Students for the Autism Society, Sign Language Club, and Sertoma Club 鈥 all of which volunteer in the community and help students prepare for careers in the helping professions or graduate school.
