Parking for the ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ’s Spring 2018 Commencement General Assembly and ceremonies for each academic college will be available at several locations.
UL Lafayette’s Spring 2018 Commencement General Assembly will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Cajundome.
Master’s and bachelor’s degrees will be conferred at ceremonies for each of the University’s eight academic colleges. Below is a schedule of times and locations.
Cajundome
- 8 a.m. College of Liberal Arts
- 2:30 p.m. B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration
Cajundome Convention Center - Festival Ballroom (2nd floor)
- 8 a.m. College of the Arts
- 2:30 p.m. Ray P. Authement College of Sciences
Cajundome Convention Center - Exhibit Hall A & B (1st floor)
- 8 a.m. College of Education
- 2:30 p.m. College of Engineering
Bourgeois Hall
- 8 a.m. College of Nursing and Allied Health Profession
- 2:30 p.m. University College
For the General Assembly and academic college ceremonies at the Cajundome and Convention Center, graduates and faculty members should enter through Gate 8 on West Congress Street or Gate 11 on Souvenir Gate. Once that parking lot is full, motorists will be directed to the Cajun Field parking lot.
Parking at Bourgeois Hall will be available in the lot outside the building for graduates and faculty members. They should enter the lot via the south entrance.
Once that parking lot is full, motorists will be directed to Blackham Coliseum and Cajun Field to park.
Students and faculty members will be required to show their caps and gowns to enter both lots.
Vehicles carrying people with disabilities will be able to enter both the Cajundome and Bourgeois lots with state-issued placards, permits, or license plates for the disabled. Motorists are encouraged to enter through Gate 14 from Souvenir Gate for the ceremonies in the Cajundome and Convention Center, or the softball field entrance on Cajundome Boulevard for the ceremonies in Bourgeois Hall.
Parking for members of the public who plan to attend ceremonies at the Cajundome and Convention Center will be at Cajun Field. Parking for members of the public who plan to attend ceremonies at Bourgeois Hall will be at Blackham Coliseum and at Cajun Field.
Motorists are encouraged to arrive to ceremonies as early as possible to prevent traffic congestion and to streamline parking.
Security measures will be in place at the Cajundome and Convention Center, and at Bourgeois Hall. University Police officers will examine the contents of purses, bags, and packages of attendees. Extremely large bags or oversized packages won’t be permitted inside the Commencement venues.
