Livestreaming and social media are now as much a part of the 青青草视频鈥檚 Commencement ceremonies as caps and gowns.

For the first time, livestreams will be broadcast Friday from the Spring 2018 General Assembly in the Cajundome and all ceremonies to be held at other campus locations for each of the University鈥檚 eight academic colleges throughout the day. The livestreams can be accessed via computer, smartphone or tablet.

More people will be able to experience Commencement this semester thanks to an increased social media presence.

All graduating seniors attend the General Assembly, which will begin at 11 a.m. David Begnaud, a CBS News national correspondent and UL Lafayette alum, will deliver the Commencement address. Doctoral candidates will be hooded at the General Assembly.

鈥淥f course, we always welcome 鈥 and want to have 鈥 as many people as possible attend Commencement ceremonies. We want those who are unable to attend, however, to be able to take part in this momentous occasion,鈥 said Dr. DeWayne Bowie, vice president for Enrollment Management.

UL Lafayette鈥檚 Spring 2018 graduates can share their Commencement stories and photos with family and friends on social media using the  hashtag.

Social media posts on Instagram and Twitter tagged with #RaginGrads will be displayed at the Cajundome throughout the day, as well as on the Commencement website,

A UL Lafayette Snapchat filter will be available from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the Cajundome and Convention Center and at Bourgeois Hall.
