Businesses Turned Red: Winners Announced

Businesses across Lafayette turned red and white Oct. 25 as part of Homecoming festivities at UL Lafayette.

The annual 鈥淧aint the Town Red鈥 business contest pits business against business for best interior and exterior decorations along with a skit contest. All participants are encouraged to 鈥減aint鈥 their businesses both inside and out with red and white to show their spirit for Louisiana鈥檚 Ragin鈥 Cajuns.

Judging began at 10 a.m., and local media personalities have chosen the winners.

In the exterior division the winners are Lowry鈥檚 Printing & Copying, first place; Affiliated Blind of LA, second place and Popeye鈥檚 Chicken & Biscuits, third place.

Winners in the interior division are Lafayette Parish Sheriff鈥檚 Office, first place; Concepts of Care Home Health, second place and Love Swimming, third place.

For businesses participating in the skit division, winners were The Schumacher Group, first place; St. Theresa鈥檚 Hospice, second place and LHC Group, third place.

Winners will be announced during the Homecoming game on Oct. 28 at Cajun Field. Sponsors for this year鈥檚 event include the Alumni Association, Enterprise Rent-a-car and the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce.

Popeye鈥檚 presents Louisiana鈥檚 Ragin鈥 Cajuns as they take on Middle Tennessee during Homecoming 2006 on Oct. 28 at Cajun Field. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
